Best tax software for household employer of eldercare nurse?
I've looked into how to handle the payroll for my mom's at-home nurse. And I've decided to go with payroll software (vs using an accountant or costly payroll services).
Could any of you recommend any software that I should look into? Thanks.

Since it is only one employee, Excel would work just fine. If you want more, QuickBooks has a payroll function, but you need to pay for the software, then 9 a year to utilize the payroll portion with updated tax tables. It will even prepare the quarterly 941 at the touch of a button. You will need to figure the state form yourself - or you can pay more money to have that feature added.
If you don't understand the deposit process or how to prepare the quarterly payroll reports, it might pay to hire someone who does. It even might be cheaper for you, too.
